Parents with Newborn Baby

ABOUT ME

My Background

As the oldest of three, I have always enjoyed caring for others. When I got my first babysitting job at 14, I remember thinking "Wow! I can't believe I get paid to take care of kids. This is the best job ever!" When I began college, I knew I wanted to have a career taking care of others; however, I struggled to find my niche. At different points, I majored in nursing, pre-vet, and elementary education before somehow deciding I wanted to go to law school.

The year I graduated from college, I decided to take a gap year to do a part time internship before moving on to law school. During this time I also became a part time nanny. Immediately, I fell back in love with caring for others and never looked back. I quit my internship and worked for the next 6 years as an infant and toddler nanny, becoming more passionate in learning about childhood development, parenting styles, etc. every day.

When I began my first position with a newborn, it changed my entire outlook on life. Through this opportunity, I fell in love with both the newborn stage and discovered a passion for helping postpartum moms (and dads!) navigate parenthood. Shortly thereafter, I gained my Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum Doula, and Child Passenger Safety Technician Certifications while also attending trainings for things such as RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers), Oral Ties, Brachiocephaly/Plagiocephaly, Newborn Rashes, etc. and devouring literature on everything related to the newborn and postpartum stages.
